Carbon Monoxide alarms to become mandatory in 2022

25th May 2022: New regulations which have recently been drafted, state that all rooms used as living accommodation and where there is a fixed combustion appliance, such as a gas heater, gas fire or central heating boiler, must have a Carbon Monoxide alarm installed from the 1st October 2022. 11th February 2020 Liverpool is one of the most searched locations for renters. New Rightmove data has found Liverpool to be in the top three most searched for locations for renters in 2019, together with Bristol and Manchester. This is great news for Landlords as well Lewis and Foy Lettings.

Whilst Landlord continues to make the news in Liverpool, William Lewis of Lewis and Foy comments “its pleasing to note the strong demand from prospective tenants. Whilst there was much doom and gloom last year, the Rightmove research confirms our own thoughts to the strong rental demand in the area. The majority of properties we advertised last year were let within a week. We have a huge list of prospective tenants but require more investors and properties to satisfy demand”.

This data coincides with reports from Zoopla of confidence returning to the housing market. Of over 650 Sales and Lettings Agents surveyed, the majority felt "very or somewhat confident" in the strength of the market for the year ahead. This is in sharp contrast to three years of decline in Agent confidence.
